Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The singer has been able to make major international inroads into the Latin pop mainstream. In 2017 the hit song from 2016 Una Lady Como Tu won the Colombian Kids Choice Award Favorite Song. The year 2017 saw the release of ADN which was his debut long-player with La Industria Inc. in Medellin. It reached the top 8 spot in the Top Latin Albums Chart. In the following year, he was a part of Ozuna for his Top Five smash Vaina Loca. Mala Influencia was his collaborative effort with Noriel in the year 2020. Following that year, Dopamina became his second album. He appeared later in 2021 as a duo with TINI on her streaming smash track Maldita Foto. He appeared in 2023 with 2000, featuring the hit single La Bachata. Turizo was born into the musical home of his family. Both his younger brother and his mother are also musicians. In interviews he has described participating in music as compulsory. As a child he learned how to play the saxophone, the ukulele, and piano. At first, he wanted to become an vet but when his brother Julian encouraged him to take lessons in singing with a Cuban singer, he altered his goals for his future career.
